There has been concern as to whether or not the Hawks, who currently own a 26-8 record, will be moved out of Atlanta by new ownership. The current ownership, along with Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, have said that the franchise would remain in Atlanta, where it has been located since 1968. NBA spokesman Mark Bass sent out an e-mail to state that the team will not move to another market.

Former NBA stars Dikembe Mutombo and Chris Webber have also previously expressed interest in purchasing a stake in the franchise.
