LeBron James finally reveals secret motivation that pushed him to win title

Becoming a three-time NBA champion. Winning a title for the city of Cleveland. Cementing his legacy as one of the greatest basketball players ever.

LeBron James has never lacked motivation, but there was always a little extra something present in the back of his mind ever since he left the Heat for the Cavaliers in 2014. After James led Cleveland to a Game 7 victory Sunday night with another stellar performance, he revealed the secret source of inspiration that pushed him to bring a championship back to his community.

DEVENEY: It's time for all of the haters to shut up and appreciate LeBron

"When I decided to leave Miami — I'm not going to name any names, I can't do that — but there were some people that I trusted and built relationships with in those four years (who) told me I was making the biggest mistake of my career," James told ESPN.com.

"And that s— hurt me. And I know it was an emotional time that they told me that because I was leaving. They just told me it was the biggest mistake I was making in my career. And that right there was my motivation."

While James refused to give names, come on. How could one of them not be Pat Riley?

Last year, with James attempting to beat the Warriors by himself and the Heat preparing for a non-LeBron offseason, Riley took a nice shot at James.

Returning to Northeast Ohio sure doesn't look like a mistake now.

James really drove it home when he returned to social media Monday and obliterated any remaining haters with a fantastic Instagram post:

They said u lost a step, wasn't explosive as once was, the best days was in the real view, questioned your drive, your leadership, your commitment, you don't have killer instinct, going back home is the worst m

istake in your career, he got the coach fired, players traded, won't work between him and Kyrie, Him and Kev won't work, love your teammates to much, there's no way he can deliver a championship in his hometown, etc etc etc.... But guess what THATS NONE OF MY BUSINESS #StriveForGreatness #ThisOneIsForTheLand #PutSomeRespeckOnMyName Hahahaha!!! Yes sir
