Baseball Eleven-year veteran Wilson Betemit has been suspended 50 games for violating the league's substance abuse policy.The free-agent infielder tested positive for amphetamine during a recent examination, announced Monday. Betemit, a career journeyman, signed a minor-league contract with the Rays last season and spent the year at Triple-A Durham. He last played in the majors in 2013 with the Orioles, where he failed to register a hit in 10 plate appearances.The 33-year-old has played for the Braves, Dodgers, Yankees, White Sox, Royals, Tigers and Orioles. He is a career .267 hitter with 75 home runs and 283 RBIs in 805 games.
