tfielder Rymer Liriano was taken to a Phoenix-area hospital Sunday after being hit in the face by a pitch during a spring training game.According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Liriano was hit in the face by a pitch from the Dodgers' Matt West during an eighth-inning at-bat. Trainers attended to Liriano on the field and immobilized him on a stretcher. After the game, Brewers manager Craig Counsell would say only that the situation is "serious."Liriano, 24, who played last season for the Padres' Triple-A team in El Paso, Texas, joined the Brewers organization in late January in a trade that sent Milwaukee minor league pitcher Trevor Seidenberger to San Diego. Out of options, Liriano is trying to earn one of the backup outfield slots with the Brewers.
